Why PIBT for Professionals
Built around your job. Not the other way round.
Yes, every PIBT programme is taught on weekends. Classes run Saturday and Sunday; nothing is scheduled on a weekday. That means you can complete a University of Greenwich degree in Colombo without resigning, without taking unpaid leave, and without putting your career on hold.
This isn’t a concession PIBT makes for busy students, it’s the only way PIBT teaches. Every programme, across all four schools, is built for people who are already working.
Wherever your career has taken you, there's an entry point
PIBT doesn’t run a single, one-size entry route. The starting point depends on what you’ve already achieved, academically or professionally.
Already hold a degree, in any field?
The Graduate Entry Pathway lets you complete an LLB (Hons) in 24 months instead of the standard 3 years, on the strength of your existing bachelor’s degree, master’s degree, or an Attorney-at-Law qualification, not more law-specific study, just less repetition of what you’ve already proven.
Already hold an HND or Diploma?
Top-up degrees (available in both Business and IT) let you convert that qualification into a full BA/BSc (Hons) in as little as one year, rather than restarting a three-year degree from scratch.
Have years of experience but no degree at all?
At postgraduate level, PIBT accepts a recognised professional qualification plus a minimum of 5 years’ experience (for example PQHRM, SLIM Level 7, PGD, or CIMA Strategic level) in place of a bachelor’s degree for entry to programmes such as the MSc Data Science and Its Applications and the LLM International & Commercial Law. Your career experience counts as your qualification.
Starting from school-leaving results?
Standard entry via GCE Advanced Level results remains the route into PIBT’s full undergraduate degrees.
Intakes
ย PIBT runs three intakes a year: February, June and September, so the wait for the next cohort is measured in months, not a full academic year.

What's different while you study
- Not a licensed or franchised copy of a degree, but the qualification itself.
- Taught by people drawn from active roles in Sri Lanka's IT, business and legal sectors, not solely full-time academics.
- Weekend delivery with flexibility within that model.
- , rather than a single lump-sum fee.
- separate from the academic teaching team.
- running alongside your studies, not deferred until after graduation.
What it leads to
PIBT has produced 6,000+ graduates, 100% employed after graduation, across Sri Lanka, the UK, Europe, the USA, the Middle East and Asia Pacific. For Law graduates specifically, the LLB (Hons) is recognised in over 47 countries, including Canada, Australia, New Zealand and across Europe, opening either Sri Lanka Law College entry as an Attorney-at-Law, or a Barrister/Solicitor route in the UK.

Common questions about the Greenwich partnership
Can I complete a UK degree in Sri Lanka while working full-time?
Yes. Every PIBT programme is delivered on weekends, specifically so it fits around a full-time job.
Will I need to take leave from work to attend classes?
No. Classes are held exclusively on Saturdays and Sundays, there is no weekday teaching component to work around.
I already hold a diploma or degree. Do I have to start from year one?
ย No. Depending on what you hold, the Graduate Entry Pathway or a top-up degree can shorten the path considerably.
I don't have a formal degree. Can I still apply, based on work experience?
ย At postgraduate level, yes, a recognised professional qualification plus 5+ years' experience can stand in for a bachelor's degree.
